The witnesses just don't want to admit the part where they saw the preternaturally strong green monster rampaging after the shooter, for fear that they'll be brought up on drug charges. (Banner will, of course, disappear shortly and show up under a new alias.)

That wasn't a bbq, that was dinner, so you would have been perfectly safe.

That's right, it's been ages since [info]princeofcairo shot anyone at the dinner table. And in that instance, the victim hadn't passed the salt when asked, so it was completely justified.
